As the founder and CEO of Autism Hearts Foundation (AHF) and Autism Hearts Philippines, Inc. (AHPI), Dr. Erlinda Borromeo (‘Dr. Lynda’) is responsible for providing leadership in two continents, directing culturally relevant programming, and a diversity of support services. Dr. Borromeo holds a BA in Music Pedagogy from the University of Santo Tomas, an MA in Special Education focused on Autism from the San Francisco State University. Dr. Borromeo completed an MA in Applied Behavior Analysis from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell. Dr. Borromeo completed her Doctorate in Leadership and Organization Management, University of Phoenix.
Determined to help her own family, Lynda’s journey began in the Philippines and led to the United States, where she co-founded the Autism Network for Global Education and Lifelong Support (ANGLES) in 2004, envisioned as an inclusive community-based center, serving children and adults living on the autism spectrum, along with their families and caregivers. In 2007, Autism Hearts Philippines, Inc., a community-based center providing ‘wrap around’ support services including training and support to children and adults living on the spectrum, was founded in Manila. In response to the growing needs of bay area families and practitioners, Autism Hearts Foundation began planning in 2008 for its development of services in San Francisco, mirroring the success of its affiliate in the Philippines.
